The Czech Republic is a member of the European Union and is considered a “high income economy” with a stable government. Its cosmetic market is strongly influenced by foreign brands, whose market share has increased markedly especially during the 1990s. Purchasing power among Czech consumers has risen steadily in the past decade, while still below that of Western Europe. As incomes rise, Czechs are becoming increasingly fashion and health conscious, demanding higher quality, more sophisticated skin care products and cosmetics. “Natural” and organic ingredients are becoming more popular in this market, though still relatively small. Good personal grooming has become an integral part of daily lives.

Topics to be covered include: business conditions in the Czech Republic and Poland, the cosmetic market, distribution channels and pricing and regulations and registration.
