The Free Trade Agreement between the U.S. and Australia import duties on cosmetics and toiletries was eliminated.

The U.S. two-way trade with Australia was $26.7 billion in 2009, up 23% from 2004. U.S. goods exports were $18.9 billion in 2009, up 33% from 2004.

Given the relatively small population of 23 million, import competition is high, the market has shown annual growth of approximately 5% from 2011-2013.
