VCRP is a is a reporting system for use by manufacturers, packers, and distributors of cosmetic products that are in commercial distribution in the United States.
FDA supports participation in this voluntary program.
Participation in this program helps FDA understand the cosmetics industry by being able to see what products are on the market, what ingredients they contain, the frequency of use of those ingredients, and what businesses are involved in product manufacture & distribution.
Information from the VCRP is also used during the selection of priority ingredients by the independent expert panel CIR (Cosmetic Ingredient Review) for safety review.
